Recruitment for Library Intern Positions at the Central Library, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Post: Library Intern
Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 27 years as on December 15, 2020 (the last date of submitting the application).
Essential Qualifications: First Division in Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent, to work as Library Intern. The applicant must have passed MLIS or equivalent examination either only in the year 2019 or 2020. However, those who are expecting MLIS final marksheet as above by the day of Test/Interview may also apply. Candidates who passed the MLIS or equivalent examination before 2019 need not apply.
Duration: Internship position is purely on a temporary basis. The internship will initially be offered for six months and based on performance; it may be extended for another six months. The maximum period of internship will be for one year only. The Intern is required to work six days a week and can avail upto two Leave in a month. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the Test/Interview. Also, there is no provision of Institute Accommodation for the Library Interns. However, the Central Library helps in settling down in the attached campus areas like Katwaria Sarai, Ber Sarai, Jia Sarai, etc. where sufficient independent and shared accommodation is available for males and females.
Nature of Internship: Interns will be provided with an opportunity to work in different sections of the Central Library and to learn the modern library management techniques and web-based services in Learn while you are Doing the Work in the Section manner.
Selected interns will be required to do shift duty on a rotation basis on holidays and until 9pm as well.

Note:
Candidates who have appeared for their final year/semester MLIS examination and are expecting the results before the test/interview date may also apply, but must produce the final marks sheet of MLIS at the time of test/interview, in proof of having passed the examination with First Division.
