Pay : PB -2 Rs, 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-

Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on 30 April 2023 (Relaxable for Govt. servant to five years in

accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Govt.) SC/ST & PH reservation will be

followed as per Govt. Rules.

Educational and other qualifications/experience:

Essential:

(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, or Library & Information Science of recognized University/Institute.

(ii) Two years Professional experience of Central/State Govt./Autonomous or statutory Organization/PSU/University or Recognized Research or Educational Institutional.

Note: The qualifications regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Competent Authority in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, if any staged of selection, the Competent Authority is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved to them.

Pay Scale Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400 Entry Pay: Rs. 35,400 (7th CPC)

Upper Age Limit : 40 years

Qualification: Essential:

Master's degree (10+2+3+2) in Library Science with minimum 60% Marks.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in the library department of a reputed Institute/University. Experience in institutes of repute like IIMs, IIT, IISER etc. will be preferred. Experience in working on library software system is essential.

Job Profile

To assist the Librarian in offering the library services to the Faculty and the students. To assist in acquiring, organizing, managing and distributing library resources and ensuring that library provision meets the needs of all its users. To assist in selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources. To upkeep Library records and equipment. The candidate should be proficient in office management software with excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Union Territory Civil Services (UTCS)

Post : Assistant Library & Information Officer

Pay level: level07

Deputation: - Officers of the Central/State Government/Union Territories.

(A) (i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; or

(ii) With 05 years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200 in PB-2 or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; or

(iii) With 11 years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2800 in PB-1 or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; and

(B) Possessing following educational qualification and experience:

ESSENTIAL:-

(i) Bachelor's degree of a recognized University.

(ii) Bachelor's degree in Library Science from a recognized university.

(iii) 02 years professional experience in a Library of Standing.

DESIRABLE:

Master's degree in Library Science from a recognized university. (Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be, not exceeding 56 years, as on the closing date of receipt of applications.)

NOTE:

For the purpose of Appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 1.1.2006(the date from which the revised pay structure based on the 6th CPC recommendation has been extended) shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding grade pay/pay scale extended based on the recommendations of the Pay Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre-revised scale of pay into one grade with a common grade pay/pay scale, and where this benefit will extend only for the post(s) for which that grade pay/pay scale is the normal replacement grade without any up gradation.
