Post : Assistant Librarian (Regular)

No. of posts : 01 (NC-OBC)

Pay- Level 8 pay scale RS.47,600 - 1,52,100; Entry Pay RS.47,600(7th CPC)

Upper Age Limit- 40 years

Qualification:

Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation with at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade and consistently good academic record.

Desirable:

M.Phil./Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation/ Archives.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience post-qualification in the library department of a reputed Institute/University. Experience in institutes of repute like IIMs, IIT, IISER etc. will be preferred.

Job Profile:

To assist the Librarian in offering the library services to the Faculty and the students, to assist the faculty and students to secure books, articles and other teaching and research materials. To assist in acquiring, organizing, managing and distributing library resources and ensuring that library provision meets the needs of all its users. To assist in selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources. Liaising with departmental academic staff, external organizations and book suppliers. Upkeep of Library records and equipments. The candidate should be proficient in office management software with excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Post : Library Assistant

No. of posts : 20 posts (08 UR, 03 SC, 01 ST, 04 EBC, 02 BC, 02 EWS)

Pay : Level 02 (RS.19,900/- - 63,200 /- )

Age limit- 18 - 37 years (age relaxation according to rules)

Minimum Educational Qualifications :-

The applicant must possess following essential educational qualification/Computer Qualification for the post of Library Assistant as on 01st January, 2022 :
(i) Intermediate in any discipline from a recognized Board/ University/ Institution.
(ii) Diploma in Library Science/ Library & Information Science (from a recognized Institution).
(iii) Diploma/ Certificate of at least six month’s course in Computer Application (from a recognized Institution).

Preferential Qualification :-

A candidate –
(i) who has served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period for two years, or
(ii) who has obtained a ‘B’ certificate of the National Cadet Corps shall, other things being equal, be given preference in the matter of direct recruitment to the establishment.

Mode of Selection :-

(i) Written test:-
Multiple Choice Question Based Objective test
(ii) Computer Proficiency Test

Minimum Qualifying Standard :-

The minimum qualifying standard shall be :-
(i) 40% in Objective Written Test
(ii) 30% in Computer Proficiency Test.

Recruitment for the Post University Librarian at Nalanda University, Rajgir

Post : University Librarian (On Contract Basis)

Pay : (USD 27000-40000) per annum

Age limit : Below 55 years

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Master’s degree in Library and information Science with minimum of 55% of the marks or equivalent grade (CGPA) and consistently good academic record.
M. Phil / Ph. Degree in Library Science and Information Sciences Minimum of 10 years of experience as Librarian / Deputy Librarian in a University or similar organizations or the institutes of repute like IITs/IIMs/IISc/IISERs etc. Experience of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT, e-resources and digital library. Sound and working knowledge of open sources software i.e. DSpace, Koha, CMS, RMT etc. along with the emerging technological tools and software related to the library is essential.
