Qualifications & Experience 

• (i) A Master's Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale, whenever grading system is followed; 
• (ii) At least ten years as a Librarian at any level in University Library or ten years of teaching as Assistant/Associate Professor in Library Science or ten years experience as a College Librarian.
• (iii) Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in a library; and 
• (iv) A Ph.D. Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science / Archives and manuscript keeping.

Qualifications for Deputation/Short-term-Contract: 

• Officers from Central/ State/UT Govt. or Universities;
• holding analogous posts on regular basis;Or
• holding posts in Level-10 (Rs.56100- 177500) with five years regular service; and 
• Ph.D. in any Social Science discipline.
• Five years of teaching or guiding research and or five years’ experience of research administration in a reputed organization.

Note:

• 1. The maximum age limit for appointment by Deputation shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
• 2. Period of Deputation is initially three (03) years, extendable as per the rules and requirement of ICSSR.
• 3. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease.
• 4. The persons holding equivalent posts or having rendered five years regular service in the next lower grade shall be considered for the posts of Section Officer and UDC.
